RammSanderson Training is running a Great Crested Newt (GCN) ecology and survey methods training course on the 17th-18th April 2020 and there is still time to book the few remaining places.

Who should attend?

This course aims to provide surveyors (beginners to intermediate level) with the necessary knowledge and skills to conduct effective GCN surveys and provide a step towards a personal licence.

Course objectives:

The course will consist of a day’s classroom session covering species identification, newt legislation and disease control followed by a practical session in the evening and following morning which will run through correct survey methodologies, practical biosecurity and habitat management.  

Venue:

The classroom session on the 17th April will take place in The RammSanderson offices in Ilkeston (DE7 4RA), followed by site visits at a known GCN breeding site (transport provided).

Your trainers:

The training course will be led by Nick Sanderson MSc BSc MCIEEM and Joe McLaughlin BSc ACIEEM, both of whom are level 2 licensed to survey for GCN. Additionally, Nick is also a Low Impact Class licenceholder and is an industry leader in GCN ecology, habitat management, mitigation and licensing.

  • Students and Post-graduates not in employment -£90+VAT
  • All other delegates -£130+VAT

Owing to the current Covid19 Pandemic, we will require a £10 (refundable) deposit to secure your place. Assuming the course goes ahead, the final payment (less deposit) will be due the day before the course.
