RammSanderson, a CIEEM-registered (Chartered Institute of Ecology and Environmental Management) specialist ecological consultancy, has been engaged by Vistry Group to provide ecological surveys and related services at a development site in Mansfield. We are currently engaged in the translocation of common lizards from this site to a nearby nature reserve to ensure the reptiles have a viable long-term population locally and aren’t lost from the area as a result of any development. We have done so in consultation with the local planning authority and the Nottinghamshire Wildlife Trust. By doing this, our work has rescued over 100 common lizards from the site to date. Our works are entirely designed to be humane practices to ensure no harm occurs to any reptiles or other animals on site and we would like to clarify that our work does not involve the use of chemicals or other noxious substances that could threaten the health of animals or wildlife in the area.
RammSanderson is a nationally recognised leader in providing environmental compliance services. We specialise in all areas of ecology, flood risk, arboriculture, and habitats. We commit to ensuring that all environmental regulations and best practices are not just upheld, but also respected and prioritised in every project we undertake.
Due to concerns raised on the site, RammSanderson made an early report to the RSPCA and we understand that both the RSPCA and the local authority environmental health department have ongoing investigations.
We fully understand how painful it is to lose a family pet and sympathise with the affected residents. Investigating the cause of these unfortunate deaths is beyond the scope of our expertise, and will support the RSPCA and the local authority’s environmental health department with its investigation where we can.
RammSanderson remains steadfast in our commitment to wildlife protection and ensuring our work upholds the highest ecological standards.
