We strongly believe that our team are at the heart of our success as a business. This is why we put a lot into fostering their individual growth by taking into account individual career aspirations, strengths and interests. One of the key ways we monitor this is through the annual appraisal process.

The Annual Appraisal Process: Recognising achievements and awarding excellent performance

Our annual appraisal process is designed to be constructive and motivating. It serves multiple purposes, identifying training needs/requests, reviewing performance, and identifying talent within our ranks. Here’s how we structure our appraisal process to ensure it drives success:

  1. Setting Clear Objectives
    • At the beginning of each year, we set clear, measurable objectives for every team member. These objectives are set by the team member and their line manager with the goal to align them not only with the individuals career goals and interests but also with our core values of Collaboration, Accountability, Excellence, Integrity, Learning and Safety.
  1. Regular Feedback and Support
    • Throughout the year, managers provide regular feedback and support via monthly 1:1 check ins ensuring that employees have the resources and guidance they need to achieve their goals. This continuous engagement helps in identifying areas where support is needed and celebrating successes.
  1. Comprehensive Evaluation
    • The annual appraisal includes a thorough evaluation of development, skills, and contributions. We use a mix of self-assessments, peer reviews, and manager evaluations to get a well-rounded view of each employee’s performance.
  1. Recognition and Promotion
    • One of the most exciting aspects of our appraisal process is the opportunity for internal promotions. By recognizing and rewarding high performers, we retain top talent and encourage a culture of continuous improvement- our staff know that when they are ready they will progress to the next stage of their career.
